Zarkava victorious in French 1,000 Guineas |
|
ZARKAVA confirmed odds-on favouritism to retain her unbeaten record in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches at Longchamp. Last season's Prix Marcel Boussac winner recorded her fourth victory over a mile at the Paris track, coming home easily from a long way back under Christophe Soumillon for trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre. The favourite denied the Wertheimer family and Olivier Peslier a Group 1 double with Goldikova coming home second ahead of the Aidan O'Brien-trained Halfway To Heaven, who has been cut into 25-1 with VCbet for the Oaks.
