Kauto Star wins gruelling Betfair battle with Imperial Commander

KAUTO STAR got the better of a gruelling battle with the gallant Imperial Commander to win the third Betfair Chase of his career. Speaking on Channel 4 racing winning trainer Paul Nicholls said: "Ruby [Walsh] just said the best three words I could hear which were 'he needed it'. Kempton and Cheltenham are his targets." Nigel Twiston-Davies, trainer of the runner-up said: "He did bloody well. From every angle I saw he had got it but there you are. I am sure the camera doesn't lie. We will keep trying in all the top races."
